Welcome

We use the word “grounded” in many different ways. From a psychological perspective, to be grounded means that we are “down to earth” and don’t have our “head in the clouds.” There is a certain stability associated with being grounded, for the word implies a firm footing, or rootedness. When we are grounded we are able to dream big, but also appreciate the work it will take to achieve these dreams.

Basically, it is balancing out the spiritual and physical energy in your body by connecting yourself with the earth. When you are grounded you feel like you are here: in the physical, in the present.

In this course I will share with you the basics of Groundedness and how you can maximize it spiritually and physically.

Practicing grounding goes hand in hand with protection. Protecting oneself psychologically/spiritually is vital for one's overall well being and health. It is advised that as you go through this course connect yourself with your higher power and/or angels, ancestors, and/or spirit guides of your Highest and Greatest Good.

This can be done with a simple prayer or making a mindful act of acknowledging with gratitude and appreciation to your Divine source. One may cite a biblical verse. My favorite is Psalm 121. Use what ever suits you and make it apart of your daily practice.

The idea of being mindful—being present, being more conscious of life as it happens—may seem contradictory to those who are used to sacrificing living for pursuing their goals, but cultivating mindfulness will help you achieve your goals and enjoy life more. In fact, you’re more productive when you’re mindful, among other science-backed benefits.

But more importantly, being present is undoubtedly the only way to enjoy life to the fullest. By being mindful, you enjoy your food more, you enjoy friends and family more, you enjoy anything you’re doing more. Anything. Even things you might think are drudgery or boring, such as housework, can be amazing if you are truly present. Try it: Wash dishes or sweep or cook, and remain fully present. It takes practice, but it’s incredible.

Ritual

Ritual is at the heart of a spiritual practice. It is the simplest and biggest way you can honor yourself and enhance your well-being. It is the difference between rushing through the shower or bath and consciously connecting with your body; between hastily slashing on body oil and taking time to indulge your senses and anoint yourself. Mindfulness and intention are the two important steps from turning a routine into a ritual. They will transform self care from a chore to a way of life and act of love.
